Three numbers on one line, and the ratio between two of them tells you more than any single one.
Standard lipid panel measures the main circulating fats. LDL-C is the classic risk marker, but triglycerides and HDL contextualise it and the TG/HDL ratio is a strong insulin-resistance proxy.
The protocol
| Units | mg/dL |
| Standard range | LDL < 130; HDL > 40 (men) / > 50 (women); TG < 150 |
| Optimal range | LDL < 100; HDL > 60; TG < 100; TG/HDL < 1.5 |
| HDL <40 | low — consider cardio + monounsaturated fats |
| TG >150 | high — review carbohydrate and alcohol |
| LDL >130 | elevated — pair with ApoB |
| TG/HDL >2 | insulin-resistance signal |
| Diet | reduce refined carbs, add fiber and omega-3 |
| Retest | 3 months after change |
| Further | add ApoB and Lp(a) for full picture |
| Movement | weekly aerobic + strength |

Three numbers on one line, and the ratio between two of them tells you more than any single one. LDL is the classic risk marker, but triglycerides and HDL put it in context. Optimal is LDL under one hundred, HDL above sixty, triglycerides under one hundred, and the triglyceride-to-HDL ratio under one and a half. A ratio above two is an insulin-resistance signal. Fewer refined carbs, more fibre and omega-3, weekly aerobic and strength work, retest in three months. And take the panel to a clinician — it is one input, not a verdict. agegen.ai.
