TSH can look normal while the active hormone is not. TSH measures the signal from the pituitary; free T3 and free T4 measure the active and storage hormones. Together the panel separates a thyroid problem from a pituitary or conversion one. Optimal is TSH one to two, free T3 five to six and a half, free T4 fifteen to twenty-two. Above four points to hypothyroidism and below nought point four to hyperthyroidism — both go to a clinician. Between two and a half and four is subclinical: watch it alongside symptoms. agegen.ai.
