One hundred and fifty minutes of moderate activity a week is the adult target.
Both the CDC and the NHS set the adult aerobic target at 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity a week, or 75 minutes of vigorous activity, or an equivalent mix. Spread it over most days and use the talk test to judge intensity.
The protocol
| Pacing | spread over 4 to 5 days or every day, for example 30 minutes on five days |
| Target | 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity a week, or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity, or an equivalent combination |
| Addition | muscle-strengthening on at least 2 days a week is a separate guideline and does not count toward the aerobic minutes |
| Duration | ongoing |
| Intensity | moderate means you can still talk but not sing |
| Equivalence | one minute of vigorous activity counts about the same as two minutes of moderate activity |
Skip this if
- adults with chronic health conditions or a disability should check with a health care professional about the type and amount of activity that is right for them; the CDC applies the same weekly aim only to those who are able
- anyone who is currently inactive should build up gradually rather than starting at the full weekly total
- anyone with symptoms, an injury, or advice from a clinician to limit exertion should follow that advice first

One hundred and fifty minutes of moderate activity a week is the adult target. The CDC and the NHS both say so. Or seventy-five minutes of vigorous activity, or a mix. Spread it over four or five days — thirty minutes on five days works. Moderate means you can still talk but not sing. If you are inactive, build up gradually. agegen.ai.
